Crockpot : Cabbage and Sausage

turnips make a great low carb alternative to traditional potatoes in this recipe.

Ingredients:

small head cabbage
2 medium onions
2 large turnips
5 mild italian sausage
mustard seed
celery seed
black pepper
thyme
dill weed
minced garlic

partially cook sausage in microwave for a few minutes. chunk up cabbage, onions and turnips and throw in crock with 1.5 cup water. cook on high for a few hours or until cabbage starts to cook through. put spices on top as desired (I use about 1 tsp garlic total) and mix through cabbage into water. turn to low and cook for 4-5 more hours until done as desired.
